With appropriate software and modular training programs, customers can independently achieve sustainable improvements even long after the project has ended.
ecoDry Converting Solutions emerged from the BTV Consulting project launched in January 2025 and focuses exclusively on industrial dryers and drying processes in the coating & converting industry. Operating globally, ecoDry successfully delivered projects across the USA, Europe, and China in 2025 — always with the same objective: make drying safer, more stable, and significantly more efficient.
In many coating and laminating lines, the dryer is the key constraint: it defines achievable line speed, influences product quality and waste, and is frequently the largest energy consumer. ecoDry addresses these levers holistically — airflow balance (supply/exhaust), pressure management, drying profiles, solvent safety concepts, and performance stability as well as energy reduction and energy integration. Typical outcomes include increased throughput, reduced energy consumption, and improved process robustness.
To ensure sustainable impact, ecoDry complements engineering work with appropriate software and structured training modules. This enables customer teams to understand root causes, validate changes with data, and continuously improve their drying process in compliance with relevant safety requirements. From a 3-day Dryer Assessment to 1 – 2 weeks of targeted troubleshooting, ecoDry provides scalable packages that turn drying into a competitive advantage.
ecoDry Engineering Team – Dedicated to Drying
ecoDry approaches industrial drying from complementary perspectives. Sven brings the mechanical engineering viewpoint, with a focus on dryer design and standards. Markus contributes 14 years of experience as a process engineer with operational responsibility, complemented by 10 years in mechanical-engineering project execution — covering process calculations and P&ID development. Bernd connects market needs with practical application, focusing on sales and technical communication. Together, Markus, Sven and Bernd combine more than 50 years of hands-on experience in process support, commissioning and acceptance runs (wet & dry). This is complemented by strong process-engineering expertise in developing, commissioning and optimizing industrial drying processes for existing production lines.
Optimization and Training – Small Packages, Big Impact
The three-day ecoDry on-site dryer assessment delivers clear, prioritized reports with actionable recommendations and practical optimization measures. Complemented by a 4-hour online training session, process engineers and operators are equipped to implement optimizations independently and sustain them over the long term. This is a future-proof approach — because every percentage point of efficiency counts.
ecoDry Software Suite (proprietary)
The software supports ecoDry in the design and optimization of dryers and their auxiliary systems. Using FEM calculations, embossing, laminating, and tempering processes in ovens, on rollers, or under IR fields can be modeled and evaluated. This provides process and decision-making confidence even before investments are made. In addition, drying profiles can be mapped as a function of defined process conditions to quantify and predict optimization potential — such as line speed, product quality, or energy consumption.
