The Association for Roll-to-Roll Converters (ARC) is expanding its global reach and strengthening its ability to serve members worldwide with the addition of two key staff members. This investment underscores ARC’s commitment to helping members connect across borders, access new opportunities, and thrive in a rapidly evolving industry.
ARC has appointed Simon Cheung as Business Development Director, based in the United Kingdom. Cheung most recently served as Sales Manager at E+R Group (Emerson and Renwick Ltd.) and brings years of experience in equipment engineering and manufacturing for roll-to-roll production machinery. His global perspective and industry expertise will enable ARC to recruit new members internationally and build stronger bridges between converters, suppliers, and academic partners across Europe and beyond.
Bringing more voices and perspectives into ARC
“As Business Development Director, my objective is to bring more voices and perspectives into ARC, creating new networking and learning opportunities for every member, no matter where they are located,” says Cheung. One of his first official acts will be representing ARC at The Battery Show (6-9 October, Detroit, MI), where he will share how ARC membership helps professionals stay connected to industry trends and build relationships that lead to growth.
ARC is also strengthening its focus on member retention with the addition of Katherine Dickson as Member Engagement Manager. Dickson is dedicated to ensuring that members receive personalised support and communication, including timely event information, targeted training opportunities, and direct guidance on how to maximise their membership benefits.
“My goal is to be a true resource for ARC members,” says Dickson. “That means helping members make the most of networking, education, and committee participation, while also listening closely to what matters most to them. Together, we can continue to grow the value of ARC and our impact on the roll-to-roll industry.”
ARC President Bob Pasquale, who also serves as Senior Vice President of New Era Converting Machinery, notes, “With Simon driving global outreach and Katherine deepening engagement, our members will benefit from expanded opportunities to connect internationally and receive stronger support across the association. Both hires align with our mission to advance the roll-to-roll industry by expanding our membership while building a vibrant, well-connected community.”
Forward momentum
ARC Executive Director Chris Kerscher emphasises the organisation’s forward momentum, “ARC is growing right alongside our members. By expanding our team and extending our reach globally, we are helping converters, suppliers, and academic partners from every region connect, collaborate, and innovate. Roll-to-roll technology touches so many essential industries, from packaging to energy storage to healthcare. Together, we are building a stronger global community to support the future of converting.”
