The future of Coatema technology has been secured and is now being repositioned globally. As part of an asset deal, the Philadelphia-based next Machinery Group, Inc. has acquired key assets of Coatema Coating Machinery. At the same time, nextCoatema Technologies GmbH has been newly established in the Düsseldorf region of Germany. Together, the two companies will form a close strategic alliance.
The goal of the partnership is not only to preserve the proven coating, printing and laminating technologies associated with the Coatema name, but also to further develop them through combined expertise and innovation. While next Machinery Group will primarily serve customers in the Americas, nextCoatema will act as the technological hub for Europe and Asia.
Four business units for a focused structure
To better address customer requirements, nextCoatema has organised its activities into four specialised business units:
LABS – R&D & Research: The company’s R&D centre in Germany will remain a key driver of innovation. The LABS unit focuses on research and process development for applications such as batteries, fuel cells, solar technologies and membranes. Through its Lab2Fab approach, developments can be scaled from laboratory stage to industrial production.
CORE – Equipment & Machinery: CORE represents the company’s core machinery business. Customers will find the established portfolio of coating and laminating systems, ranging from roll-to-roll lines to customised speciality machinery.
FLOW – After Sales & Service: FLOW consolidates all service and after-sales activities. With full access to technical documentation and engineering data, the unit ensures global supply of original spare parts as well as maintenance, retrofit and modernisation services for installed systems worldwide.
OS – Education & Training: The OS unit focuses on knowledge transfer. It offers coaching, training programs and masterclasses designed to help customers and partners use the technologies efficiently and safely.
