Masterpress, a European provider of high-quality label and packaging solutions, announced that it is expanding its operational and production capacities with a new LED printing press and has officially begun work on expanding its third production facility in Białystok, Poland.
The LED printing press from US machine manufacturer Mark Andy Inc. is expected to go into operation at the Masterpress site in Białystok in October this year. “Our latest investment reflects Masterpress’ strategic commitment to driving further growth and maintaining the highest standards of quality and efficiency,” says Gabriel Magdaleno, Strategic Product Management and Marketing Director at Masterpress.
How will this affect the label and packaging supply chain?
The new LED printing press aims to increase Masterpress’ competitiveness and further strengthen its market position to deliver new, innovative and sustainable solutions to customers across the label and packaging supply chain, including brand owners.
The new machine is expected to reduce printing costs for long-run jobs thanks to its high-speed performance of up to 750 feet per minute (fpm). An automatic tensioning system also helps reduce material waste and operator strain. In addition, the LED printing press features faster changeover times for the printing stations and carrier tool design. This ensures safe use for immediate tool size changes without the need to adjust colour and print settings.
In addition, the new LED printing press has energy-efficient features designed to reduce carbon dioxide emissions throughout the packaging and label supply chain. These features include the adjustability of the dryer for recirculation, which reduces energy consumption through better temperature and air flow control.
“Despite an uncertain global environment, we cannot stand still when it comes to our growth and competitiveness. The new LED printing press and the further expansion of the site are in line with our industry’s and our customers’ pursuit of competitiveness and sustainability,” emphasises Magdaleno.
Strategic expansion of the Białystok site
In addition to expanding its machine bank, Masterpress is also actively expanding its physical presence. The company has officially begun the expansion of its operations in Białystok.
Once completed, the third plant will consist of new, modern offices, storage and production facilities. “We want to grow in all areas, which is also reflected in this announcement. Masterpress is striving to improve its capabilities with leading-edge machinery, expand its physical presence with a new location, and at the same time reduce its environmental footprint by introducing new sustainable products based on a strong foundation in research and development,” says Magdaleno.
