With the Product Navigator, SÜDPACK Medica supports material selection in an increasingly complex environment. Users can evaluate suitable material combinations based on specific application requirements and common sterilisation methods – such as steam, EtO or gamma – thereby shortening development times and reducing risks in packaging development.
Manufactured under cleanroom conditions
The MedGuard portfolio comprises flexible and rigid packaging systems – from robust thermoformed films to bag and pouch solutions. Special lid materials are produced in certified cleanroom environments and meet the requirements for clean production and validatable sterile packaging (including in accordance with ISO 11607).
Strong partnerships across the entire value chain
To ensure consistent system compatibility, SÜDPACK Medica collaborates with selected manufacturers of paper and lid materials, as well as with leading manufacturers of packaging machinery. This enables sealing performance and opening behaviour to be specifically designed, tested and optimised for the equipment platforms used in the industry.
Comprehensive in-house laboratory facilities also enable the precise measurement of mechanical, thermal and functional film properties to support customer-specific requirements and validation processes.
Technical validation at the Ochsenhausen technical centre
In addition, SÜDPACK Medica offers its customers the option of conducting sealing tests with MedGuard films in combination with various lid materials at the technical centre in Ochsenhausen. These tests enable a targeted assessment of the sealing windows, peel performance and process robustness – and support packaging development prior to commercial scale-up. Where necessary, SÜDPACK Medica also coordinates joint optimisation tests with the customer and their machine suppliers.
Sustainability based on life cycle assessments
Sustainability is also embedded in the MedGuard strategy: SÜDPACK Medica’s sustainability department carries out, among other things, screening LCAs to obtain environmental assessments as quickly as possible based on secondary data and to ensure that the packaging systems offer best-in-class sustainability performance – without compromising safety, functionality or regulatory compliance.
