AUO announces high-level appointment

AUO Corporation announced a high-level personnel change approved by the Board of Directors. Mr Frank Ko has resigned as President for personal reasons. The Board has appointed Mr David B.Y. Chang, the company’s current Chief Financial Officer, as President, effective 31 July 2026.

David B.Y. Chang has held several senior leadership positions at AUO and publicly listed group companies, including Chief Financial Officer and head of corporate management functions. His extensive experience spans finance, business operations, human resources, information management, and legal affairs. He has also been closely involved in the company’s business development and transformation initiatives. In his new role, Chang will integrate resources across AUO’s three strategic business pillars and the Institute of Innovation & New Venture to accelerate the company’s transformation and enhance overall operational performance.

Appreciation for Frank Ko’s contributions

The Board of Directors expresses its sincere appreciation to Frank Ko for his contributions, leading the operations team to advance technical depth and expanding the business reach during his tenure.

Chang has long been dedicated to group operations, possessing extensive experience in financial governance, operational management, and organisational development. In recent years, he has played a key role in AUO’s strategic planning, business development, and transformation initiatives, demonstrating strong leadership in resource integration, operational efficiency, and cross-functional collaboration. Since assuming the role of AUO’s Chief Financial Officer, Chang has continuously driven financial reforms to optimise the Company’s financial structure and capital management efficiency. Through sound financial governance, he has supported business transformation and global expansion, laying a more solid foundation for the long-term development of AUO’s three strategic business pillars.

Organisational framework

Following the completion of AUO Group’s new management structure on July 1, the organisational framework comprising the three strategic business pillars—Display, Mobility Solutions, and Vertical Solutions—together with the Institute of Innovation & New Venture, has been fully established. The leaders of the business pillars and the Institute possess diverse experience across R&D, sales, and procurement, with deep expertise in technology development, market expansion, and supply chain management.

With the appointment of Chang, a professional in financial and operational management, as the new President, AUO aims to further integrate group strategy, optimise resource allocation and financial structure, and enhance performance management. The company believes his leadership will strengthen accountability, enhance operational resilience and capital efficiency, and create long-term value for shareholders.
