Beontag launches textile-integrated RFID Solution

Beontag, one of the world’s largest manufacturers of self-adhesives and smart tags such as RFID and NFC, has announced the launch of Fiberwave Soft, a premium extra‑soft UHF RFID care label designed to be embedded directly into apparel. The innovation allows fashion, luxury and premium brands to replace external adhesive tags or stiff woven labels with a fully seamless, textile‑integrated RFID solution—preserving the highest standards of softness, comfort, and garment finishing for both the brand and the consumer.

No trade-off between traceability and comfort

Item‑level traceability in apparel has often required a trade‑off: brands had to choose between reliable RFID tracking or an uncompromised tactile experience. Fiberwave Soft eliminates that choice. Engineered with a proprietary ultra‑soft textile structure, the label feels indistinguishable from the garment itself, even when placed against the skin. It delivers accurate UHF RFID read range and reliability across the supply chain—from factory floor to point of sale and beyond.

This breakthrough solution’s main goal is to reduce the gap between functionality and design, meeting fashion retail operations demand for discrete tags that don’t compromise garment finishing and quality presentation. It can be easily integrated into existing manufacturing processes and customisable to meet different needs while maintaining RFID tracking efficiency throughout the supply chain.

“Luxury and apparel brands should never have to decide between digital efficiency and physical comfort,” said Thiago Horta, VP of Digital Transformation Enablers at Beontag. “Fiberwave Soft embeds intelligence into the fabric itself, protecting both the brand’s quality image and the end‑consumer’s experience. It’s the new standard for discrete, high‑performance smart labels.”

Engineered for seamless integration and customisation

Fiberwave Soft is designed to fit into existing garment manufacturing processes with no major retooling. It can be fully customised—size, shape, print, and branding—to meet the needs of demanding customers in the premium segment.

As the global fashion and luxury goods industry moves toward regulatory and consumer-driven Digital Product Passport (DPP) frameworks in the EU, brands are seeking practical ways to align global traceability infrastructure with future compliance needs. While Fiberwave Soft leverages UHF RFID for high‑speed inventory management, loss prevention, and supply chain visibility, the label itself can also be printed with a serialized QR code. That QR code, when adopted, becomes the visual, consumer‑accessible carrier of the Digital Product Passport, linking to product origins, care instructions, repair information, and circularity data. This flexible dual‑layer approach means brands are not locked into a single architecture: they gain immediate RFID efficiency today, with the optional ability to add a DPP‑ready gateway.

“With Fiberwave Soft, brands can start with world‑class embedded RFID comfort, then seamlessly layer on DPP compliance without changing the label or the manufacturing process.” added Horta.
