SPIE, the International Society for Optics and Photonics, selected Dr Douglas Guerrero, Senior Technologist at Brewer Science Inc., as a new Fellow of the Society.
“Fellows are Members of distinction who have made significant scientific and technical contributions in the multidisciplinary fields of optics, photonics, and imaging. They are honoured for their technical achievement and for their service to the general optics community and to SPIE in particular. More than 1,800 SPIE members have become Fellows since the Society’s inception in 1955,” according to the SPIE Fellows webpage.
Impressive R&D career
Dr Guerrero joined Brewer Science in 1995 and has served in several positions within the R&D organisation where he led the development and commercialisation of several antireflective coating products. He is currently a Senior Technologist in the Semiconductor Materials Business Unit. He has been on assignment at imec in Leuven, Belgium since 2008 where he is supporting the development of processes for future nodes. He is also a sought-after author of articles, seminar lecturer and expert panel member, and regularly presents at industry events.
Accomplishments for the industry

Dr Guerrero has contributed to over 20 patents and 60 publications.
