TactoTek, the pioneer of In-Mould Structural Electronics (IMSE) technology, announced a licensing partnership with LurexX optical GmbH, a German technology consulting and development company specialising in optical simulation and design of advanced optical components. LurexX strives to offer its customers the latest technological concepts and will now integrate IMSE technology into its engineering portfolio.
Strengthening the global IMSE ecosystem
The partnership strengthens the global IMSE ecosystem by adding advanced optical engineering competence in optical system design, light simulation, validation, and measurement technologies, supporting customers from early concept definition through mass series production. IMSE enables the integration of high-quality lighting functions, such as fully dynamic surface illumination and light lines within ultra-thin surface structures, and LurexX’s expertise helps customers fully leverage these capabilities. By digitally calculating and optimising optical performance at an early stage, LurexX ensures maximum light efficiency and homogeneity in IMSE-based structures.
TactoTek’s IMSE technology integrates lighting, touch controls, electrical components, and circuitry directly into three-dimensional moulded structures. By replacing conventional multi-component architectures with structural electronics, IMSE enables lightweight, thin smart surfaces that combine distinctive design and improved performance with reduced assembly complexity and lower total system cost.
A powerful solution for customers
“We are excited about this partnership with TactoTek. IMSE technology gives us a powerful, state-of-the-art solution to offer for our customers, particularly in lighting applications, where conventional technical approaches reach their limits,” said Peter Nagy, Director of LurexX optical GmbH. “With our expertise in optical simulation and illuminated component design, we can maximise the efficiency of IMSE technology and reliably validate even highly complex concepts for demanding automotive and industrial requirements.”
“We are pleased to welcome LurexX optical GmbH to the growing IMSE ecosystem. Their specialised optical expertise strengthens the ecosystem in a very concrete way,” said Stefan Tschugmell, Senior Vice President, Global Sales and Business Development at TactoTek. “IMSE technology itself enables designers to combine form and function more freely. With LurexX’s capability to demonstrate a clear pathway from digital concept to scalable, high-performance lighting solutions, customers gain confidence early in development and a competitive advantage when bringing IMSE-based applications to market in a timely manner.”
