Using simulation to analyse roll-to-roll processes rather than relying exclusively on optimisation during production: This is the focus of a free live webinar hosted by Maplesoft on 16 September 2026.
Simulation to support design, analysis and optimisation of converting systems
The session will examine how simulation can be used to support the design, analysis and optimisation of converting and web-handling systems.
Roll-to-roll machinery presents particular challenges during commissioning and optimisation due to factors such as web tension, web stability and the tuning of control strategies. Simulation can provide a way of investigating different system conditions and control approaches virtually before implementing changes on a running production line.
The webinar will cover the information required to build and validate a practical simulation model, the skills involved and the types of insights that can be derived from such models. Using examples from MapleSim for Web Converting Systems, the session will focus in particular on the simulation of tension-management systems and the development of control strategies.
Benefits of simulation
The programme will also address where simulation can be applied in converting and web-handling machinery, where it can provide practical benefits and where additional expertise or investment may be required. The webinar is aimed both at users looking to analyse and optimise existing lines and at companies involved in the development of new systems.
The free webinar will take place on Wednesday, 16 September 2026. Further information and registration are available from Maplesoft.
