The winners of the OE-A Competition 2026 have been announced at the Award Show during LOPEC, highlighting the latest innovations in flexible, organic and printed electronics.
Technological progress and market potential
Each year, the competition recognises outstanding demonstrators and products that showcase the technological progress and market potential of the industry. The 2026 edition once again underlined the sector’s innovative strength – from industrial applications to healthcare solutions and smart consumer products.
Best Prototype and New Product
The award in the category “Best Prototype and New Product” went to FLEXOO, Germany, for its Leakage Detection System for Industrial Plants.
Best Freestyle Demonstrator
In the “Best Freestyle Demonstrator” category, TracXon, The Netherlands, was honoured for its MiniLED Monochrome Display.
Best Publicly Funded Project Demonstrator
The Smart Sensing System for Diabetic Foot Ulcer Care, developed by Hochschule Niederrhein (Germany), received the award for “Best Publicly Funded Project Demonstrator”.
Public Choice Award
The audience-selected “Public Choice Award” was presented to CeNTI – Centre for Nanotechnology and Advanced Materials, Portugal, for its Printed Headrest Loudspeaker.
Start-up excellence
The OE-A Student Open Innovation Challenge, powered by Metafas BV and ELANTAS, recognised the Printed Battery Monitoring System developed by Eindhoven University of Technology.
In addition, the LOPEC Start-up Competition 2026 honoured two young companies for their business and technology impact. The award for “Most Impactful Technology” went to GRAFREN AB, Sweden, for its graphene-based innovations. The prize for “Best Business Potential” was presented to KRONOS Mechatronics GmbH, Germany.
With this year’s winners, the OE-A Competition and the Start-up Awards once again demonstrate the dynamic development of the printed electronics industry and the strong collaboration between research institutions, start-ups and established companies across Europe and beyond.
