Oxford PV recognised in Global Cleantech 100

Pioneering high-efficiency solar cell manufacturer Oxford PV has been featured in the prestigious Global Cleantech 100, a list of private companies most likely to make significant market impact over the next five to ten years.

Determined by a panel of 81 industry experts comprised of investor and multi-national corporation representatives, the list places Oxford PV in the distinguished company of other innovators, such as Too Good To Go, EV.Energy and fellow University of Oxford spin-out OXCCU.

Ramping up production

Oxford PV has been selected in a year when the company is ramping up production of its perovskite on silicon tandem solar cells, which produce significantly higher efficiency levels than standard silicon cells found in current PV modules.

The technology has the potential to maximise the amount of electricity generated by solar energy systems in the future, delivering around 20% greater performance on average than conventional silicon cells and increasing power output on the same footprint, and similar balance of system costs, of a solar installation.

David Ward, CEO of Oxford PV, said: “We are delighted to have been featured in the Global Cleantech 100. Our ground-breaking perovskite technology has been recognised as a game-changer for the solar industry.”
