TactoTek and BlueBinaries bring new light interfaces to upcoming automotive platforms

TactoTek, a Finnish company known for its expertise in Injection Moulded Structural Electronics (IMSE), has recently signed a licensing agreement with a leading automotive engineering service provider, BlueBinaries. This agreement focuses on developing cutting-edge automotive interiors using TactoTek’s IMSE technology and leveraging BlueBinaries’ strong engineering pedigree to develop advanced automotive light interfaces and enhance the next-generation vehicle cabin experiences.

IMSE technology from TactoTek is notable for its ability to create slim, high-contrast designs with clear lighting. This technology is particularly suited for developing new types of human-machine interfaces. With this agreement, BlueBinaries aims to champion the adoption of novel designs and smart interiors, emphasising slim, compact configurations and unconventional shapes for automotive panels—all driven by cutting-edge IMSE technology. BlueBinaries places a strong emphasis on harnessing innovative technologies to develop solutions for future mobility and create unique customer experience. Using IMSE technology, the company will be able to not only take a significant leap in design flexibility but also implement energy-efficient lighting features, such as smart and adaptive lighting systems contributing to improved safety and overall reduction of the vehicle’s carbon footprint. This collaboration is a significant step for both companies.

‍Differentiation with cutting-edge technology for customers‍

BlueBinaries is embracing an opportunity to enhance its lighting solutions by integrating TactoTek’s IMSE technology. This collaboration is a strategic step for BlueBinaries, allowing them to utilise their extensive expertise in lighting alongside the innovative features of IMSE. This integration aims to develop unique, customer-centric lighting designs that are both functional and aesthetically appealing. “I am delighted to announce our collaboration with TactoTek as the engineering partner in developing groundbreaking automotive interiors for future mobility. TactoTek’s IMSE technology, renowned for its unmatched design flexibility, stands at the forefront of our mission to create scalable and innovative designs for the next generation of vehicle interiors, all while ensuring total cost efficiency. I am very excited to integrate BlueBinaries’ engineering prowess with IMSE technology to create not just differentiated designs but also to leverage IMSE extensively to develop lightweight and eco-friendly automotive solutions, pushing our commitment to drive innovation for our customers globally”, says Kishore LM, President & COO at BlueBinaries.

‍Engineering scale to support mutual customers

TactoTek’s IMSE License for Engineering Partners is a comprehensive package of IP and toolkits for IMSE design, innovation, and simulation to accelerate the development of smart 3D surfaces. Paavo Niskala, SVP IMSE Technology at TactoTek, says: “Our partnership with BlueBinaries is a strategic move to enhance the application and reach of our IMSE technology. BlueBinaries’ expertise and scale significantly contribute to our ecosystem, enabling us to meet global design needs more effectively.”
