On 20 March 2025, more than 160 participants tuned in for a live demo of TACK (Tapes and Adhesives Calculation Kit). The webinar not only provided participants with a hands-on understanding of TACK’s functionalities but served as a valuable training resource. The session was recorded, ensuring ongoing access for members.
The newly developed PCF calculation tool is the result of a strategic collaboration between Afera and the German Adhesives Association, IVK. They commissioned Sphera, a specialised provider of sustainability consulting services, to develop a unified tool to assess the product carbon footprint of their products.
Widespread industry interest
The recent webinar, co-hosted by Janik Bollé, sustainability officer at IVK, and Pablo Englebienne, regulatory affairs & sustainability manager at Afera, showcased TACK’s capabilities. Margarida Gama, senior consulting manager at Sphera, led a detailed presentation, while Abdessamad El Bahraoui, sustainability consultant at Sphera, provided a live demo of the tool.
The Afera-IVK webinar drew significant participation from industry professionals, highlighting the strong interest in TACK. The interactive Q&A session offered attendees practical and actionable solutions to their queries.
Current status
TACK is currently undergoing third-party verification by DEKRA, a respected auditing firm, with full release to members expected in April 2025. Post-launch, Afera and IVK will gather user feedback throughout 2025 to guide future updates. This iterative process will ensure the tool remains aligned with user needs and evolving sustainability standards.
In an era of tightening environmental regulations and heightened customer scrutiny, TACK is not just a compliance tool—it is a strategic asset for future-ready companies.
